There aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done!

So, when I’m doing “mindless” tasks like dishes, exercise, etc., I enjoy listening to podcasts as a way to learn more and keep up with what’s new.

Here are some of the best podcasts I’ve found, which might be valuable to freelance developers, designers, and other creative professionals:

The Tim Ferriss Show – In case you’re not familiar with Tim Ferriss, he’s the author of The 4-Hour Workweek, a book about escaping the 9-to-5 “rat race” and gaining more freedom and control over the work-life balance. On his podcast, Tim and his guests dive into interesting and inspiring topics. It’s rare that I don’t get at least 1 good idea every time I listen.

Mixergy – I love Andrew Warner’s podcast, but I’d be terrified to be on his show! Andrew does deep research on each and every guest and is fearless when it comes to asking the hard, sometimes awkward, questions. In almost every episode, he has a way of finding at least a couple of “juicy” and uncomfortable questions that help him to dig deep into the success and failures of each guest. Very interesting!

Revision Path – Such a great deep-dive, this podcast is an award-winning weekly showcase of Black designers, developers, and digital creatives from all over the world. Although some of them work in-house at big companies, guests on Maurice Cherry’s podcast really open up about the experiences and methods they use to attain world-class design and development creativity.

Innovating with Scott Amyx – This is a new one I found recently. Scott is a very interesting guy and his guests, from all different parts of the professional world, bring lots of interesting perspective, which helps me to re-think some of the ways that I conduct my own business.
